A bit of a last minute dash up the hill paid off – with the high winds, we decided to leave the rivers and hit the lake which has reports that it was fishing well. We managed to get around a dozen fish to the net and missed a lot more. Not a lot of size to them, but all healthy and chunky for their size, definitley not complaining.
Nath and I geared up in our respective footy jerseys for a hit out on some local water for a much needed outing. Pretty lucky to have some nice water like this only a short drive from the city.
A quick trip up for the afternoon to fish some of my favourite water. While only weighing in a 1.5lbs, this chunky rainbow put a nice bend in the rod. I ended up landing 3 around a similar size, all off the top on small midge patterns. A good day out to mark the start of winter and the end of the NSW Trout season for me.
