A bit of a last minute dash up the hill paid off – with the high winds, we decided to leave the rivers and hit the lake which has reports that it was fishing well. We managed to get around a dozen fish to the net and missed a lot more. Not a lot of size to them, but all healthy and chunky for their size, definitley not complaining.
Night fishing off the bank. Midge hatch for 5-10 mins, then a caddis hatch for 10 mins, a few fish rising but then it was dead. Then around midnight, the browns came on in the shallows for about a 20min window and that was it. Repeated the exact same the following night at the exact same times.
