Gale force winds in the morning had us questioning why we made the drive up over the hill. But the wind quickly died down mid-morning and the lake really came into it’s own. Clear water, lots of food about and best of all, lost of fish moving. Once we worked out the right flies, sink rate and retrieval – it all came together and we all got fish (a lot!) to the net.
Personally, it was one of the best days fishing i’ve ever had on the lake at Eucumbene as everything came together and paid off in the end. Also the fish landed have been some of the best conditioned lake fish i’ve seen (espeically the rainbows). Giddy up!
